School Health

Clearwater is committed to providing school environments that promote and protect children’s health, well-being and ability to learn by supporting healthy eating, nutrition education, physical activity and integrated school-based wellness. Clearwater is served by two full-time school nurses. If you have any health related questions or issues, please contact your child’s school.

 
Vision Screenings: Vision Screenings, conducted by the school nurse or other person trained, are provided for new students, special education students and all students in the following grades PreK, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 10th.  Parents will be notified if their child does not pass the school screening. 
 
Hearing Screenings: Hearing Screenings, conducted by the school nurse or other person trained, are provided for new students (including PreK and Kindergarten), special education students and for all students at least every 3 years.  Parents will be notified if their child does not pass the school screening. 
 
Dental Screenings: Free dental inspections will be offered to all students, PreK-12th grade and conducted by appropriate dental care providers.  Parents will be notified of their child's results.
