Welcome Robi Alstrom to Elementary West

Join us in welcoming Robi Alstrom to Elementary West. Mrs. Alstrom will co-share interim principal responsibilities this semester with Mrs. Thimmesch. Currently retired, Mrs. Alstrom most recently worked at the Educational Service Center in Hutchinson teaching teachers. Her focus is on brain science and learning.

“I’m always the champion of the struggling learner. My heart goes out to them,” Mrs. Alstrom said. “My passion is helping teachers to problem solve in their classrooms so that all students can be successful.”

Before her work at the service center, Mrs. Alstrom was a special education teacher in the Maize district and before that, a secondary at-risk reading instructor for Cheney schools. She began her teaching career as a social studies and English teacher.
